CORAL REKINDLING VENUS

Planned to culminate with the next Transit of Venus on 5 June 2012, Coral Rekindling Venus is an innovative cross platform project including a full dome work for planetariums, an interactive website, and an augmented reality application that explores responses or coral reef systems attempting to deal with the stresses of climate change.

An evolving multiplatform documentary project first launched in 2008. Big Stories, Small Towns features collaborations between small town communities and filmmakers in residence. The project is shaped through extensive local consultation and participation to create stories made by both filmmakers and community members - full of love, humour, family and belonging.

Set in a bizarre, 1960s inspired version of World War II, action comedy series Danger 5 follows a team of five spies on a mission to kill Adolf Hitler. Danger 5 is the finest group of special operatives the Allies have to offer: Jackson from the USA, Tucker from Australia, IIsa from Russia, Claire from Britain and Pierre from Europe. In each episode Danger 5 unravels another of Hitler's diabolical schemes as they travel across a myriad of exotic locations.

Alternator is a thrilling racing game around a climate-ravaged Australia that contains an educational message about sustainable energy. It was funded through the Serious Games Initiative, a partnership between Screen Australia and ABC TV. The team included multi-award winning writer and director Bryan Moses (AFI-winning Double the Fist), multi-platform producer Dean Tuttle and game stimulations expert John Welsh.

Little Space Heroes

Little Space Heroes is an ambitious virtual world for kids that provides a safe and fun story driven experience. Players get to create their own space cadet, and explore a universe full of fun and adventure. It comes from Sydney-based Bubble Gum Interactive, who have launched a beta-version that they invite big and little kids to come and play.

Warco  

WARCO

Warco is a prototype for a game in which players take on the role of a war correspondent trying to shoot reportage and expose the truth in hazardous territory. Using the First Person Shooter game mechanic, it seeks to offer a more intelligent, emotional and complex gaming experience. It comes from a multi-disciplinary team comprising of filmmaker Robert Connolly (Balibo), veteran journalist and news producer Tony Maniaty and Morgan Jaffit, one of Australia's leading game developers. They have released a video walkthrough of the demo on YouTube.

Club dirtgirlworld is a new interactive site featuring the animated characters from the hugely successful series created by Australia's Cate McQuillen. The site seeks to galvanise kids to connect with the environmental themes of the show, offering them a virtual forest in which to share and listen to thoughts and opinions, and highlighting strategies for sustainable living in a fun, immersive way.

Beachtown is a Facebook social game in which you get to hang out on your own virtual beach, invite friends, go surfing and get happy. Initially launched in early 2011, this new release is an enhanced version of the game with more features and deeper game play. Beachtown was devised and created by Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Steve Pasvolsky with consultant game legend Noah Falstein.
