Business Analyst

Location: Sydney
Engagement Type: 12 month fixed term contract
Team: Business Process Review Program (BPRP)
Immediate Supervisor: CFO

This successful candidate will be engaged under the Screen Australia Act 2008.

The Business Analyst is responsible for acting as the conduit between management, business users, 3rd party vendors and technical staff to lead process efficiency and technology improvement. The successful applicant will analyse, document and propose solutions and prepare functional specifications and user and system test plans.

Core responsibilities

  • To act as the conduit between technology and business teams and drive the overall implementation of core technology solutions
  • To undertake role of facilitator in work groups to explore business process improvement opportunities
  • To analyse and document business processes and obtain sign-off from the client on the specifications
  • To collect, understand, and transmit the business requirements for projects, and translate these into functional specifications and detailed test plans
  • To provide the link between the business user, development team and any third party regarding software functionality, throughout the software development lifecycle
  • To design test scenarios and scripts, and manage and conduct user acceptance testing on new processes and methodologies
  • To manage day to day change requests in relation to the project plans to ensure agreed deadlines are met
  • To undertake role of facilitator in training on new processes and ways of working
  • To conduct project presentations and compile status reports
  • To develop system implementation documentation, including but not limited to system requirements, user guides and system documentation
  • To identify issues, risks and dependencies between projects and escalate as appropriate
  • To work in conjunction with the other members of the Business Process Review team to deliver against core priorities
  • To assist other staff in developing business analysis skills.
